Support Groups for Aurora, Colorado Cancer Survivors and Families

Once treatments are complete, cancer patients often have the feeling of "what now". Days were spent scheduling appointments and seeing multiple doctors in a week. Family schedules were disrupted and energy was focused on their family member's well being.

In my many years of practicing restorative oncology, patients have often opened up to me about restoring certain aesthetic aspects after treatment. Too often, my patients are reluctant to talk about these concerns in fear of appearing vain in the face of surviving a potentially lethal disease.

Now, with large amounts of time now available, the patient and family want to get back to normal. But, normal is ... different. Cancer support groups can be the bridge to your new normal. They offer a variety of ways to move on the next chapter of your life. Support groups offer:

  • Emotional and mental health support

  • Validation of the physical side effects you're experiencing

  • Advice for insurance and returning to work

  • Help with restoring intimacy and rejoining social groups

  • Practical advice to caregivers who spent so much energy taking care of you

At Muse, I want to empower patients to feel confident and comfortable about their aesthetic desires and goals. This should be an important part of your journey back to feeling normal. But, cancer support groups offer honest, shared experiences that help in so many areas of the oncology journey.
